Cormac hails from Northern Ireland, but he sees himself first and foremost as Irish, and he'll celebrate his pride for the whole island rather than any political limitations as loudly as he can. he comes from a really ancient and well-connected family and his parents are die-hard purists so that's what he was raised to believe in, but his view of purism will start to change once he begins to realize that Muggle-borns are not as bad as he's been taught they were.
That said, he's loud, childish, obsessed with girls and Quidditch, and rather vain and self-centred (and a bit too fond of using his fists when he gets annoyed), so you'll need to have a little patience before you see the big softie underneath all that. Oh, and he has a baby brother, Declan, who will start Hogwarts in a couple of years' time. More →
Rolf is shy, sweet, and a bit of an oddball - not Luna Lovegood sort of oddball, but still enough for people to stare at him with raised eyebrows from time to time, due to his obsession with animals and his tendency to search for UFOs during Astronomy classes instead of stargazing. He's also a rather messy dormmate and keeps losing his socks everywhere.
Family-wise, his surname will definitely be recognizable by the other students, as one of the textbooks is written by his grandfather Newt. The most die-hard Quidditch fans might have also heard of his mother, "Huge" Hildi Kästner, former Beater for the Heidelberg Harriers (alas, her son is tall but scrawny and cannot fly a broom to save his life). Nick's parents were both underage when he was born, so he was raised by his paternal grandparents, who have tried to instil on him the values they cherish the most. They have succeeded in some ways, as proven by his sorting, but he's still too lazy and too much of a goof - as well as a precocious charmer where girls are concerned. His mother, Beauxbatons alumna Gisela Bettencourt, is now a famous supermodel, and he's hoping against hope he'll never find any of his friends perving over her, as that's just too weird. More →
Zoe is the baby sister of Myron Wagtail, whom at this point is yet to found the Weird Sisters (at this point he's at WADA) but whose "legend" wreaking havoc at Hogwarts will still be in the memory of the older students. Zoe apologizes, but she's not a heir to that legend - she's sweet, studious, rule-abiding and no-nonsense (in other words, a strong candidate for prefect in the future) and frowns a little at her brother's shenanigans and excesses. That doesn't mean she's a pushover, though - in fact, in spite of the Hat putting her in Hufflepuff, she's got a strong Slytherin streak that expresses itself in both her drive and a certain deviousness. Cross her, and you might find yourself victim of a nasty prank, though one nobody will ever be able to pin on her. You have been warned. She also has an older sister, Phoebe (fifth year Hufflepuff), who is a little bit of a flower child and another aspiring musician. More →
Miles will be the first Bletchley not to be sorted to Ravenclaw since practically forever (I've jokingly mentioned in the past that the family are probably the heirs of Ravenclaw) and in spite of the cunning, ambition and desire to follow his own path, the Ravenclaw in him is still very strong. He'll claim one of the tables at the library as his own and will do everything he can to be the best student in his year (Eddie Carmichael better watch out). That said, I should mention that he's got a really funny sense of humour, mocking everything and everybody and addressing everybody by nicknames, usually based on their surnames. Don't be offended, though - he teases because he cares. More →
